Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they purely appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 gives a tally of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card could be played depending on the following protocols:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie generally pay eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will occur less than one every ten hands. Stay away from putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are significantly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When done properly, baccarat provides pretty good odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future actions. Tracking of previous conclusions on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and possibly most successful tactic is the one-3-two-six technique. This method is used to boost wins and limiting risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
